Dustin Grim

Owner and Supervisor

Dustin M. Grim, owner and supervisor of Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., is a 1994 graduate of Kutztown High School, Kutztown, PA. He attended Kutztown University and is a 2000 graduate of Northampton County Area Community College, Bethlehem, PA with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Funeral Service Education. He received his funeral directors license on September 27, 2001. Dustin is married to Andrea B. (Bechtel) Grim. They reside in Emmaus with their sons, Matthew and Benjamin. He is a member of NFDA, PFDA, Past President of the Eastern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Emmaus Main Street Program, member and Past President of the Emmaus Lion’s Club, Emmaus Lodge #792 F&AM, board member of the Emmaus Community Foundation, treasurer of Emmaus General Authority, and past member of the East Penn Education Foundation. He is a member of Brookside Country Club and enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his sons.

Andrea B. (Bechtel) Grim is the wife of Dustin M. Grim.  She is a 1996 graduate of Kutztown High School and a 2000 graduate of Albright College, earning a degree in Business Management.

H. Walker Schantz

Former Owner

H. Walker Schantz, graduated from Temple University, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Licensed in 1964 he joined his father in business becoming the owner and supervisor in 1986. Walker is a member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and The National Funeral Directors Association. He was past president and treasurer of the Emmaus Lions Club and past president of the Emmaus Ambulance Corp.; past financial secretary of Emmaus Citizen's Fire Company # 2. He is a member of Emmaus Lodge #792 F&AM, Shriner and a member of the Rajah Temple and a member of Allentown Consistory. Walker is a member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus. Walker resides in Emmaus with his wife Helen (Sis) Schantz. He has two children, Kevin and Kelly and three grandchildren, Tommy, Jimmy and Bryana. He is a member of Brookside Country Club and enjoys golfing.

Carl H. Wieder

Carl H. Wieder is a 1953 graduate of Emmaus High School. He worked as a project manager in industrial and commercial construction for 40 years, retiring in 1996. Carl is married to Nancy J. (Urffer) Wieder. They reside in Emmaus. They have 3 children and 7 Grandchildren. He is a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Emmaus. Carl has been working for the funeral home since 2002. Carl was a past president of the Emmaus Lion's Club. Carl is a avid golfer.

Elwood 'Woody' Benner

Elwood 'Woody' Benner was raised in Vera Cruz. He is a 1960 graduate of Emmaus High School. After high school, he spent six years in the U.S. Naval Reserves and served in Operation Deep Freeze in the Antarctic. He retired in 2004 after working 40 years at Mack Trucks as a final mechanic. He is married for 40 years to his wife Sharon, and they have four children and three grandchildren. His hobbies include riding his motorcycle, hunting, and playing the guitar.

Leroy "Rock" Stauffer

Staff

Leroy "Rock" Stauffer is a 1960 graduate of Emmaus High School. After high school, he spent four years in the Navy serving as an electronics technician. He worked for IBM as a computer technician for 30 years, retiring in 1993. Rock then joined TEI, located in Clarks Summit, for 16 years as a computer consultant, retiring in 2010. Rock and his wife Margie have been married for 45 years. They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. They are members of St. Ann's Catholic Church where Rock enjoys singing on the choir. He has been working for the funeral home since 2008. Rock enjoys golf, tennis, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dale L. Grim

Staff

Dale L. Grim resides in Kutztown and is the father of Dustin M. Grim.  He is a 1965 graduate of Hamburg High School.  He retired in 2010 after working 44 years as a pattern maker.  He is married to his wife Theresa.  Dale has three children and six grandchildren.  He is an active member and past president of the Kutztown Optimist Club, serves on the Kutztown Fair Board and treasurer of the Fools Run.  He is a member of Zion Maxatawny Union Church where he sings on the choir.  He enjoys golfing and fishing.

Randolph Schueck, Jr.

Randolph "Randy" Schueck, Jr. is a 1970 graduate of Emmaus High School and a 1978 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  He also attended three years of graduate school at the State University of New York, New Paltz College.  Randy taught three years as a high school social studies teacher in the Tri-Valley Central School District in New York and then relocated back to Pennsylvania in 1981 in order to accept a position at Knoll Incorporated in  East Greenville, PA.  During his time at Knoll, Randy managed and ran the test lab facility at Knoll and retired on March 1, 2017.  He also works on the golf professional's staff at Brookside Country Club and has worked for the funeral home since November of 2016.  Randy is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and he enjoys playing golf and his guitar.  He currently resides in Macungie with his wife Barbara, and they have two children and one grandson.

Matthew and Benjamin Grim

Funeral Assistants

Matthew D. Grim and Benjamin T. Grim are the sons of Dustin and Andrea.  Matthew is a student at Eyer Middle School and Benjamin is a student at Macungie Elementary School.  Matt and Ben are involved in Upper Milford Youth Association, playing soccer and kickball.  They enjoy helping out around the funeral home.
