William H. Mehrtens, Jr., 82, of Macungie, died January 6, 2018 in Phoebe Home, Allentown.  He was the husband of Joyce A. (Bermel) Mehrtens.  Born in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late William H. Mehrtens, Sr. and Janet (Galan) Uhrig.  He worked as an accountant for Suffolk County, Long Island, retiring in 2000.  He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown.  Bill was a member of the Lower Macungie Senior Citizens and served on the Board of Directors at the Fairways at Brookside.

Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce; Sons, William C. Mehrtens and wife Tammy, David E. Mehrtens and wife Janet, and Andrew C. Mehrtens and wife Susan; Daughter, Ruth wife of Vincent Arezzi; Sister, Janet Conte; 13 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson.

Services: Private at the convenience of the family.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
