Obituary

William A. Gehman, Jr. William A. Gehman, Jr., 76, of Allentown, formerly of Emmaus, died April 1, 2007 in his residence. He was the husband of Joan J. (Bray) Gehman. They celebrated their 56th anniversary in February 2007. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Florence (Yost) and William A. Gehman, Sr. He was a graduate of Emmaus High School and the Chrysler School of Mechanics, Detroit. He was a salesman for the former William A. Gehman and Sons and later for West End Sales and Service, retiring in 1989. He was a charter member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church and was a past president of the board of elders, past treasurer, and a deacon. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He attended basic training at Fort Dix, attended Fort Sam Houston for medical training, and was sent to Walter Reed Medical Hospital. He later went to Germany and established hospitals in the battlefields. He was a former member of the Emmaus Lions Club and served as a Notary Public. Survivors: Wife; Sons, William A. Gehman, III and wife Carla of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jeffrey J. Gehman and wife Deanna of Allentown; Daughters, Jocelyn J. wife of Michael Easton of Conway, SC and Judith J. wife of Thomas Rychnovsky of Allentown; Brothers, Francis Gehman of West Palm Beach, FL and Kermit Gehman of Emmaus; Sister, Betty wife of William Rapp of Whitehall; Grandchildren, Caitlyn, Sarah, Hunter, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Shelby, Wyatt, Livia, Bryce, Zachariah, Jason, Melissa, Kyle, and Dwight; Great Grandson, Joshua. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy wife of Warren Pfeiffer. Services: Funeral Services Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 10:30 AM in Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, 1151 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown. Friends may call 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the church. Interment with military honors in Zionsville Bible Fellowship Church Cemetery.
