William W.
Frailey, Jr.
November 5, 1942 – March 23, 2016
Dr. William W. Frailey, Jr., 73, of Lower Macungie Twp., passed away in his home on Wed., March 23, 2016. William was born in Allentown, PA on November 5, 1942 to Gladys (Brown) and William W. Frailey Sr. He attended Emmaus High School, Franklin and Marshall College and the Temple University School of Medicine. He was board certified in surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a Lieutenant in the Navy Medical Corp from 1969 – 1971. He served as chief of the division of general surgery at The Allentown Hospital and associate chief of trauma surgery at the Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was president elect of the medical board at the Allentown Hospital from 1984 - 1986 and served as president from 1986 - 1988. He was a partner in the Surgical Associates of the Lehigh Valley. He served as the Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Lehigh Valley Hospital and then as the Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs for Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. William married Paula L. (Urban) on April 26, 1969, and together they had two sons, Mark and Matthew. His hobbies included model railroading and volunteering at the Lower Macungie Library. He enjoyed collecting books, stamps, coins and Sherlock Holmes memorabilia.
Survivors: William is survived by his spouse Paula, his sons and their spouses Mark (Kylene) and Matthew (Nancy) and his four grandchildren Kayla, Jarod, Mackenzie and Lilyana. He was predeceased by his parents William and Gladys Frailey of Emmaus, PA. Services: Visitation will be held at Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:30 with military honors at 11:30 AM.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in William's name to the John & Dorothy Morgan Cancer Center or the Lower Macungie Library.
