Willard D. Lefty Wieder Willard D. Lefty Wieder, 89, formerly of Macungie, died March 27, 2010 in Cedarbrook Nursing Home. He was the husband of Anna Mae (Schafer) Wieder. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in May 2009. Born in Macungie, he was the son of the late Alton J. and Carrie Mae (Miller) Wieder. He was a Pump Station Operator for Buckeye Pipe Line Company for 23 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Solomons U.C.C., a charter member of the Macungie Ambulance Corp., a member of the Macungie Minstrelaires and member of the Macungie Park Association. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII. Survivors: Wife; Sons, David W. Wieder and his wife Rev. Kathryn of Lower Macungie Twp., Thomas R. Wieder and his wife Pamela of Emmaus, and Paul A. Wieder of Danielsville; Brothers Donald C. Wieder of Emmaus, and J. Thomas Wieder of Owensboro, KY; 6 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Mark A. Wieder in 2001; 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Services: Memorial Services Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Solomons U.C.C., 82 S. Church St., Macungie. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 in the church. Interment will follow in Solomons Union Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
