Wilbur Lewis Boyer, age 99, of Allentown, passed away on September 2, 2023 in Luther Crest Nursing Facility in Allentown. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles Faust and Mabel Minerva (Steininger) Boyer. He was the loving husband of C. Gloria (Bast) Boyer with whom they shared 76 years of marriage.

He earned his BS in Chemistry and graduated from Albright College. He attended University of Arizona, Tucson and St. Joseph University in Philadelphia, PA.

Wilbur proudly served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps during WWII in the South Pacific.

He was a Research Chemist for development of new products at: Glidden Paints, Reading, PA, Firestone Plastics Company, Pottstown, PA, Corrosion Reaction Consultants, Philadelphia, PA and New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, PA. For 25 years he served as a Chemical Consultant and Technical Expert throughout the USA. He authored technical publications and developed a patent. He was involved in start up and development of a number of small businesses, one local --A.D. Computer Company, Bethlehem, PA. He was active in Technical Societies and local organizations such as Kiwanis, Sales and Marketing Executives, Planning Commissions and Lehigh/Northampton counties. He retired in 1995. He was a member of Chandler Lodge #227 F&AM, West Reading, PA.

He was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, PA, where he served on council and many committees. In previous years he was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Reading, PA where he served on council in the years involving construction of their education building. In past years he served on the executive board of the Lutheran Synod of North East PA, working on area wide activities.

He traveled extensively and participated in local camera, financial, computer and senior groups.

Wilbur is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Lark Louise Heiney and her husband Michael; grandchildren Keza Lynn Boyd and her husband Joel, Ashley Michelle Siglin and her husband Jeff and Adrian Marie Miller and her husband Joshua; 4 great-grandchildren and son-in-law Joseph Kutzera. He was predeceased by daughter, Lynn Lois Kutzera.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM in The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S Cedar Crest Blvd, Emmaus, PA 18049. Inurnment will take place in Laureldale Cemetery in Reading.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wilbur's memory to The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd, Emmaus, PA 18049.
