Obituary

Wendy J. Musselman Wendy J. Musselman, 60, of Emmaus, died January 29, 2009 at home. She was a beloved wife and mother. She and her husband, Richard, celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in June, and they recently enjoyed a visit with their daughter, Jenna Musselman Yott, at her home in Oakland, CA. Wendy was born on March 9, 1948 in Allentown, to the late Henri and Frances (Kern) James. She graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1966 and went to Kutztown State College, where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Library Science in 1970. She received her Masters Degree in Library Science, also summa cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh in 1973. She was a librarian at Brandywine Heights Area High School for ten years, where she met Richard. She was also the librarian at the Hillside School in Macungie for fifteen years, retiring in 2003. She was a dedicated member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury U.C.C. for the past 34 years. During that time, she served on the Consistory, was a leader of numerous committees, and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and active in its monthly book discussion group and annual book drive. She was also a member of the social group, Kutztown Chicks of 66. She enjoyed movies, reading, restaurants, traveling, playing cards, and spending time with her large circle of friends and family. Her warmth, sense of humor, and especially her generous and loyal spirit will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Survivors: Husband; Daughter and Son-in-law David; Siblings Erin Hertzog of Mertztown, Lance James of Topton, Heather Howell of Mohnton and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by the family pet and her loving companion, Wesley the Whippet. Services: Funeral Services Monday, February 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. Viewing 12:30 to 2:00 PM in the church. Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., Emmaus is in charge of arrangements.
