Walter E. Koehler, 80, of Center Valley, died Nov. 24, 2016 in his residence. He was the husband of Shirley R. (Schmeltzle) Koehler, with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Kurt W. and Mildred E. (Ringer) Koehler. He worked for Rodale Manufacturing and later for the YMCA in Quakertown, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the John Deere 2 Cylinder Club and loved working outdoors, working in the garden, and woodworking.

Survivors: Wife; Daughter, Lorie A. Koehler of Center Valley; Brother, Kurt W. Koehler, Jr. of Catasauqua; Sisters, Gertrude Tettemer of Center Valley, Dorothy Ann wife of Dennis Bieber of Allentown, and Mary Jane Koehler of Coopersburg. He was predeceased by brother, Harlan A. Koehler and sister, Annie Erney.

Services: Funeral Services Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
