Veronica M. Renee Smith Veronica M. Renee Smith, 89, formerly of Allentown, died March 3, 2007 in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the widow of the late Hal S. Smith. Born in San Francisco, CA, she was the daughter of the late Denis and Amelia (Delaney) Scannell. She was the owner of Renees School of Dance in Emmaus and Allentown for 35 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown. She was a member of the National Association of Dance Arts of America and the Bethlehem Ballet Guild. After retiring from the dancing school business, she took up oil painting and was a member of the Allentown Art Museum and the Parkland Art League. Survivors: Son, Patrick T. Smith and wife Judith of Schnecksville; Daughter, Arlene wife of Donald M. Bernhard of Allentown; Grandchildren, Spencer and Tess Bernhard; Step Granddaughter, Jessica Higgins Press; Nieces and Nephews.
