Velma Elizabeth Ann (Parker) "Liz" O'Brien, 85, of Emmaus died peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2016. She was born on February 13, 1931 on Staten Island in NY, the daughter of Velma Sally (Ford) Parker Wilson and William Albert Vent Parker. She graduated from Wagner College in 1952. Liz married Roy O'Brien in 1953 and spent two years in Japan which was the start of her lifelong love of travel. Liz raised five children and lived and traveled abroad and throughout the United States as she embraced life with enthusiasm. Liz had strong opinions and passionately supported many causes throughout her life, from peace centers to food pantries and animal shelters. Liz will be lovingly remembered by her family: L. Susan Soltis, Debra Regh, Mark O'Brien (Adeline O'Brien), Nancy O'Brien, Jennifer Kloss (Terence Kloss), and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be
held on Saturday, January 7, at 11am at the Richland Friends
Meeting on the corner of Main Street & Mill Road in Quakertown, PA, to honor and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the ASPCA . Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
