Obituary

Thomas D. Dismuke Thomas D. Dismuke, 81, of Coopersburg, died July 22, 2007 in his residence. He was the widower of the late Joan M. (Michaels) Dismuke. Born in Steamboat Springs, CO, he was the son of the late H. M. Stanley and Marion (Van Deusen) Dismuke. He was a 1951 Graduate of the University of Colorado with a Bachelors degree in Engineering Physics and a 1968 Graduate of Lehigh University with a Masters degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a civil engineer for Bethlehem Steel for 39 years, retiring in 1992. Upon retirement he continued practicing his profession as a consulting engineer, performing engineering services for clients such as the U.S. Navy in Groton, CT and was the author of several technical manuals. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII in the European Theater and later attained the rank of Captain in the Army Reserves. He was a Founding Trustee of the Deep Foundations Institute. He also served on the Lower Milford Twp. Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board for 38 years, where he served as chairman from 1969 to 2004. Survivors: Sons, James T. Demeaux of San Diego, CA, Daniel P. Dismuke and wife Rosemarie of Reading, and Mark E. Dismuke and wife Sheryl of Silver Springs, MD; Daughters, Clare Dismuke-Setzer wife of Alfons Setzer of Emmaus, Rita wife of Rick Butkowski of Allentown, and Amy wife of Mark Krout of Easton; Brothers, Stewart Dismuke of St. Louis, MO, Morton Dismuke of Westminster, CO, and Donald Dismuke of Aiei, Hawaii; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren. Services: Viewing Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Horace W. Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Limeport.
