Susan D. Friend, 68, of Zionsville, died May 7, 2023 in her home. She was the wife of Raymond A. Friend. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Deborah (Snyder) German of New Tripoli and the late Mark C. German. She worked as a secretary and in administration at Lehigh Valley Hospital for 20 years. She served as the choir director for Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville for many years. She enjoyed music, singing, and gardening. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and most of all vacationing with the grandkids.

Susan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Raymond; mother, Deborah; son, Raymond M. Friend of Zionsville; daughter, Gwendolyn Martin and partner Kermit C. Gorr of Boyertown; grandchildren, Gabriela Martin, Gianna Martin, and Nolan R. Friend; brothers, Eric German of Philadelphia and Neil German and wife Betty of Switzerland; sisters, Kathy German wife of Erich Schrempp of Chicago, IL and Lynn German Long of New Tripoli.

A Celebration of Susan's life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Upper Milford Mennonite Church, 6450 Kings Highway South, Zionsville, PA. Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
