Shirley V. Hertzog, age 94, of Topton, formerly of Emmaus, passed away on March 27, 2023 at The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the loving wife of the late Earl S. Hertzog. Born in Pleasant Corners, PA she was a daughter of the late Wilmer and Perma J. (Leiby) Smith.

She graduated from Rutgers School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Cedarbrook Nursing Home for many years. Prior to that she worked at Reinmiller Convalescent Home in Emmaus. She was a member of St. John's U.C.C., in Emmaus.

Shirley is survived by her son James S. Hertzog, wife Gerri; daughter-in-law Donna, wife of the late David Hertzog; grandchildren Brian, Karen, Lauren, Michael and Haley; great-grandchildren Sadie and Tucker and brother Lewis Smith, wife Eunice. She is predeceased by infant daughter Anne; son David P. Hertzog and brother Jimmy Smith.

You are invited to visit with Shirley's family and friends from 9:30-10:30 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St. John's U.C.C., 139 N. 4th Street, Emmaus, PA 18049. Her funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery.
