Sherwood C. Herring, 88, of Allentown, died May 18, 2016 in At Home Health and Hospice. He was the widower of Pauline M. (Lentz) Herring. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Raymond C. and Grace N. (Keiper) Herring. He was a graduate of Allentown High School. He owned and operated Sherwood Herring Signs, Emmaus for many years, retiring in 2008. He was a longtime member of Emmaus Moravian Church. Sherwood was active in the Kiwanis Club of Emmaus and the Emmaus Lions Club. He co-wrote the Emmaus Bicentennial Celebration and continued his love acting, art, and music with Allentown Municipal Opera Company, Zion Choral Society, various church choirs, and the Unitas Chorale.

Survivors: Daughters, Cynthia wife of John Siwy of Estero, FL, Sherry wife of Rev. Jeffrey Gehris of Nazareth, and Claudia wife of Dietmar Buge of Allentown; 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Douglas Herring.

Services: Memorial Services Sat., June 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Emmaus Moravian Church, Main St. and Keystone Ave., Emmaus. Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
