Sara E. Sally Grant Sara E. Sally Grant died on March 30, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born in 1918 and grew-up in Allentown. After graduation from Allentown High School, she attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. She was the daughter of Brunhilda O. and William C. Harned, who co-founded the Zollinger-Harned Company department store in 1906. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George J. Grant, and her parents and three brothers; William B. Harned, Robert V. Harned and Ralf E. Harned. Sally is survived by her six sons, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Lynn B. Moyer. Her sons and their spouses are: James H., Sr. (Honora); George W. (Linda); Robert B. (Linda); Ralf C. (Sarah); William J. (Teri); and Alexander F., (Donna). She was a volunteer for the Red Cross during WWII. Also, as an involved parent she was an active volunteer with the Cub Scouts. For over sixty years she was very proud of her many works with cross-stitch sewing. She shared the majority of her beautiful sewn-works with family members, close friends and church bazaar. Sally enjoyed the New Jersey shore and always took time for competitive table games with family and friends. Before her passing, she was a long-time competitive bridge player and enjoyed playing board games, especially Dominoes and Scrabble. During the past 15 years she has been an active member of St Peters Union Church in Macungie where she worked on many of the congregations committees. Services: Funeral Services Friday, April 2, 2010 at 10:00 AM in St. Peters Union Church, 7863 St., Peters Church Rd., Macungie. Viewing 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the church.
