Obituary

Sandra A. Zavecz, 79, of Emmaus, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Steven Zavecz. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Rose (Fehr) Sell. She was a devoted and loving mother, known for her kindness, generosity, and the great heart she shared with everyone she met. Sandra was a proud resident of Emmaus for 57 years, where she built a life rooted in family, faith, and compassion. Sandra worked in the dietary department at the former Allentown Hospital and also worked in the laundry department at HCSC. She and her husband were members of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, where their shared faith was an important part of their lives. She had a deep love for animals and was a devoted supporter of the World Wildlife Fund.

Sandra is survived by her son, Scott K. Zavecz; daughter, Tammy M. Zavecz; grandchildren, Jose A. Torres, JR. and Kendra R. Wade. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Sell.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:30 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus. Viewing 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 415 South 6th Street, Emmaus, PA 18049.
