Samuel R. Brown Samuel R. Brown, 66, of Emmaus, formerly of Reading, died June 15, 2007 in his residence. He was the husband of Nancy (Burris) Brown. They celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary in August 2006. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Clarence C. and Sadie M. (Miller) Brown. He was a self-employed painter for Sams Painting, Emmaus for 10 years, retiring in 2002. Previously, he worked for Air Products and Mack Trucks. He last worked delivering flowers for the Macungies Posey Patch. He was a member of Old Zionsville United Church of Christ, where he was an Elder, past Consistory President, and Assistant Sunday School Treasurer. He was a member of Emmaus Lodge F & AM, where he was Past Worshipful Master and currently serving as Steward, was a past member of the Rajah Temple, was active in the Boy Scouts, serving in various leadership positions in the Minsi Trails Council, and was past president of the Emmaus Flag Day Association. He honorably served his country in the Navy during Vietnam. Survivors: Wife; Sons, Jacob S. Brown of Emmaus and Benjamin A. Brown and wife Amy of Allentown; Sisters, Alma wife of John Felix of Oley and Sara wife of Robert Smeltz of Reading; Grandchildren, Colin J., David S., and Emma H. Brown. He was predeceased by a brother, Clayton Brown. Services: Funeral Services Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 10:30 AM in Old Zionsville U.C.C., Fountain Road and Kings Highway, Old Zionsville. Viewing Monday, June 18, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main Street, Emmaus and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church. Interment in Old Zionsville U.C.C.
