Sammie J. Trumbore
Emmaus resident Sammie Trumbore passed away on December 1, 2023, just 8 days away from her 90th birthday. Born in Altus, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late William and Faye Barnhill. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Trumbore.

After high school graduation, Sammie worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in Texas and for Pacific Telephone in California before moving with her husband to Pennsylvania. While raising her own children, she also provided child care for many, many others. Sammie never lost her Texas accent or her sense of humor, even during difficult times. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, especially gospel music. Sammie was respected for her steadfast Christian faith and her devotion to her children.

Sammie is survived by her sons, Stephen and David Trumbore; daughters Ramona Neidig and husband Jeff, Sharon Martinez, and Aimee Trumbore. Her 5 grandchildren are Caleb, Seth and Elizabeth Martinez, Andrew Trumbore, and James Neidig.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus PA 18049. A viewing will be held one hour prior, from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be family only, but all attendees are welcome to attend a buffet lunch/celebration of life reception at 12:30 at the Superior Restaurant.
