Ruth H. Speary, 80, of Emmaus, died January 27, 2015 in her residence. She was the widow of Jack R. Speary. Born in Muncy, she was the daughter of the late W. Raymond and Helen M. (Faus) Hess. Ruth worked as a medical technologist for the former Allentown Hospital and Lehigh Valley Hospital, retiring in 1991. She was an active member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, serving as treasurer for many years, captain of the altar guild, and was a communion assistant. Survivors: Sister, Janet Lee of Ontario, Canada; Nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Mark W. Speary and Greg D. Speary. Services: Funeral Service Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM in The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus. There will be no viewing. Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
