Russell K. Sterner, 92, of Macungie, died January 30, 2015 in Phoebe Home. He was the husband of Betty M. (Seislove) Sterner. Born in Dillingersville, he was the son of the late Alvin H. and Alice (Weller) Sterner. He was a truck driver for A.H. Sterner Trucking, East Penn Foundry for 40 years. He worked for Tyler Pipe, Daniel's Motor Freight, Ohio for 8 years and Associated Transport, Inc., Burlington, NC for 20 years. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus. Russ honorably served his country in the Army during WWII in N. Africa, Sicily, and Italy. He was a life member of Macungie VFW Post 9264 and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a member of Emmaus Lodge #792 F&AM. Russ was an avid Flyers and Nascar fan. Survivors: Loving Wife; Daughters, Sandy wife of William Schultz of Scottsdale, AZ, Brenda wife of the late Steve Welling of Marblehead, MA, and Debra Padrone of Macungie; Brother, Alvin Sterner, Jr.; Sister, Lillian Sterner; 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Sterner. Services: Funeral and Masonic Services Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus. Viewing 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Macungie.
