Robert F. Kauffman Robert F. Kauffman, 87, of Emmaus, died June 2, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the widower of Gertrude A. (Eroh) Kauffman. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Edgar and Lucy (Moyer) Kauffman. He was a rural carrier for the Emmaus Post Office for many years, retiring in 1987. He was an active member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, leader of the Christian Service Brigade, member of the choir, and with the Yoke Fellows prison ministries for many years. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII, earning two purple hearts and a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Emmaus VFW, Lehigh Valley Veterans of Battle of the Bulge, authored a book entitled, "The Replacement" about his WWII experiences, and was an active public speaker. Survivors: Sons, Richard Kauffman and wife Becky and Alan Kauffman and wife Connie; Daughter, Marjorie wife of Richard Mengel; Sister, Florence wife of Gerald Schlonecker all of Emmaus; 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Services: Funeral Services Thurs., June 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. Viewing Wed., June 5, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and Thurs. 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Zionsville Bible Fellowship Cemetery.
