Robert P. Hastings, 54, of Allentown, died March 20, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of Cindy S. (Schell) Hastings, with whom he celebrated 28 years of marriage. Born in Peckville, he was the son of Mary Ann (Tomaskovic) Hastings of Peckville and the late James J. Hastings. He was a graduate of Valley View High School and Lycoming College with a degree in accounting. He was the assistant controller at Muhlenberg College and previously was the controller in the Bethlehem Division of Howmet Corp. and was an accountant at several local CPA firms. Bob was an active member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, having served as a trustee, usher, member of the stewardship committee and a mentor for catechism. He was an avid fly fisherman and basketball player. He previously coached basketball for the SPYA. Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother. Survivors: Wife Cindy; Mother Mary Ann; Sons, Christopher H. Hastings and Andrew J. Hastings; Brothers, James Hastings of Miami, FL and Paul Hastings of Bangkok, Thailand; Sister, Maureen Dietrich of Reading. Services: Celebration of Resurrection on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00 PM at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus, PA 18049.
