Robert D. Garvin, age 87, of Macungie, PA passed away at home, on August 21, 2023. Bob, as he is affectionally called, was the loving husband of the late Lulu Elizabeth Garvin and the late Barbara A. Garvin.

Bob is survived by his companion of 26 years, Patricia (Pat) Herring, daughter, Deborah K. Corby, and her husband Tim, step-sons Terrence and Jeffery Neely and their wives, Susan and Virginia, son-in-law Steven Weller, grandson Cody Faust, sister, Cynthia Ward, and sister-in-law, Margaret Garvin. He was predeceased by wives Lulu and Barbara, daughter, Marie L. Weller, grandson Robby Faust, and brothers James and William Garvin, and James' wife Anne.

Bob, the son of the late Russell W. and Anna K. (Hughes) Garvin, was born in McKeesport, PA, on July 29, 1936. He graduated from McKeesport High School in 1954 and earned his bachelor's degree in industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University in 1958. During his career at Buckeye Pipeline, he acquired engineering licenses in several states, and was promoted to Director, Engineering & Construction. In addition to working at Buckeye, Bob bought and developed land in Lehigh and surrounding counties. After 38 years with Buckeye, he retired in 1997.

Following retirement, Bob and Pat traveled together in Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Bob was an avid golfer and an active member of the Buckeye Golf League. Bob was a very kind, giving person and would help anyone in need.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street Emmaus, PA 18049. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
