Richard L. "Dick" Ritter, Sr., 81, formerly of Emmaus, died August 8, 2017 in his residence.  He was the husband of Bernice (Deveraux) Ritter.  Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Morris and Edna (Thomas) Ritter .  He was a school teacher at Salisbury Middle School for 25 years.  He was an avid championship golfer who led many teams to top honors.  He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was a sports fan and die-hard Eagles fan.  He was a lover of the Word of God and studied the bible.

Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Bernice; Son, Richard L. Ritter, Jr.; Daughters, Pamela Bila and Denise Heinbuch; Sister, Dolores Elias; 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a Brother, Donald A.M. Ritter and Half-Brothers, Dennis and Gary Breisch.

Services: Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus, PA 18049.  Viewing 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.  Interment with military honors Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
