IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard
Druckenmiller
November 17, 1954 – June 21, 2021
"The greatest gift is to love and be loved in return." Rick Druckenmiller, 66, of Zionsville, lived this well and earned his angel status on June 21, 2021 after a short, but devastating illness, surrounded by his loving family. Rick was a man of integrity and loyalty. Any time spent with friends or family was time well spent as there was never a time that he wasn't available for a friend or family member. While Rick was a man of few words, his actions always spoke louder, because he did everything with love and gratefulness. His daughters and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life and it wasn't uncommon for him to show pictures or videos that he so fondly kept on his phone, waiting for the right 'bragging' moment. The grandchildren learned about tractors from Rick and have all had their fair share of rides with him. He was also a handy man and countless of his creations will be forever treasured. Rick enjoyed golfing, hunting, participating in bowling and softball leagues over the years. Additionally, he coached The Morning Call's softball team for many years. Rick was a hard worker, with decades of dedication to his career at The Morning Call and most recently, R.R. Donnelly. When not working, Rick loved to 'man the grill', where he would delight family and friends with his grilling mastery and his infamous 'Drink of the Day.' ("Happy Hour" is the best hour.) He also enjoyed Long Beach Island, where he spent more than 50 years vacationing with family. He was a diehard and lifelong Phillies and Eagles fan and supported them regardless of how they were doing. His passion for baseball set him on a quest to tour as many ballparks as possible.
Survived by Rick are his wife, Audrey; daughters, Heather and her husband, Bob; Jamie and her husband, Chris; sisters, Donna, Ginny and her partner, Brenda and grandchildren – Dakotah, Cayden, Addisyn, Jane and Lily. Rick is predeceased by his loving parents, Russel and Josephine (David) Druckenmiller. Rick was born and raised in Allentown, PA and served as the Vice President of the Board for the Mercantile Club, as well as a member of American Legion Post # 576.
Funeral Service will be held on Mon., June 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Old Zionsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Family Pillars Hospice, 3910 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA, as they provided amazing care and support as Rick transitioned to his eternal life.
