IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond J.
Uzzo
January 3, 1942 – December 3, 2021
Raymond J. "Ray" Uzzo, 79, of Emmaus, passed away on Dec. 3, 2021 Lehigh Valley Hospital. Ray was born on Jan. 3, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. In 1960, he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country for the next 6 years. After the Army, Ray moved to New Jersey and worked at the Maxwell House Coffee Plant in Hoboken until he relocated to Naranja Lakes, FL in the late 1970's. While in FL, he not only worked for a division of ConAgra Foods, he married his beloved wife, Roseann. They moved back to NJ in the late 1980's and made their home in Laurence Harbor. Ray started on a new life path and worked in the food and beverage industry at The Grain House in New Brunswick and The Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge. In 2002, Ray and Roseann became proud residents of the Borough of Emmaus. He semi-retired in 2004 and then worked for many years at Parma Pizza, Village West in Allentown. Ray will be remembered as a character. He was a one-of-a-kind, outgoing, friendly, talkative, hardworking, proud loveable man. A complete people person, he was always there to give his wisdom and honest opinion on any subject and if anyone ever needed a helping hand, he was there. A man who would help any of God's creatures, big or small.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 37 ½ years, Roseann (nee Reilly); his sons, Raymond and wife Michele of Colonia, NJ and Randy of Laurence Harbor, NJ and his 3 grandchildren, Brian, Alexis, and Randy. He is also survived by an older brother, Thomas Uzzo and wife Ann of Sarasota, FL and 2 sisters, DorAnn Kessler and husband John of Massapequa, NY and JoAnn Russo and husband John of Graveland, FL; his brothers-in-law, James Reilly and Stephen Reilly of Colonia, NJ; along with his many nieces, nephews, and cousins and of course, Meatball, Guaio, and Micha. He was predeceased by parents, Joseph and Dorothy (nee Doyle) and older brothers, Kenneth and Robert.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Lehigh Valley Hospital, most notably, those in the ICU and the Hospice Care Units.
Babe, I wasn't done loving you yet and I will be covered in the memories of you. It will always be "you and me against the world." Until we are together again, you'll always be in my heart.
As per Ray's wishes, arrangements will remain private. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
