Keinert
September 20, 1935 – September 1, 2021
Ray H. Keinert, 85, of Macungie, formerly of East Texas, passed away Sept. 1, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born in Allentown, he was one of four sons born to the late Homer and Margaret (Solt) Keinert. He was the husband of Carol (Miller) White Keinert.
He was employed for 28 years at Tyler Pipe in Macungie after which he enjoyed 23 years in school transportation with LSTI for East Penn and retiring from Laidlaw as Terminal Manager at Southern Lehigh SD. Following retirement, he was blessed to drive parttime for Laidlaw, providing transportation for Lehigh Valley students to PA School for the Deaf in Scranton, driving for Phoebe Terrace recreational activities, and meeting customers of Leibensperger Transportation Sales upon delivery of buses.
He enjoyed spending time in the Smokey Mountains of TN, NASCAR, and Dorney Park racing, where he could be found on the Keinert pit crew and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Dale of Northampton, and Douglas of Wescosville; stepson, Chad White and wife Caryn of Redwood, NY; stepdaughter, Caryn Mumbulo of New Berlin, NY; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; nephew, Homer Keinert of Allentown, who was like a 4 th son; additional nieces and nephews and loyal lab mix, Buddy. He was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Keinert Stettler, son, David W. Keinert, brothers, Robert, Earl, and William, as well as canine companions, King, Casey, Toby, and Rusty.
A memorial service will be held on Sat., Sept. 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Private interment will be in Bethany United Methodist Cemetery. The family would prefer masks be worn at the fuenral home.
In lieu of flowers, Ray requested contributions be made to support the Eagle Sanctuary at Dollywood. These can be made at AEF, P.O. Box 333, Pigeon Forge, TN 37868 or to Peaceable Kingdom, Whitehall, PA.
