Ray D. Kachelries, 88, of Emmaus, passed away May 30, 2016. Born in Coalport, Clearfield County, PA on November 13, 1927, he was the son of the late Mary (Larsen) and the late Jesse Kachelries. He was predeceased by brothers Byron and Howard. After graduation from high school, Ray served his country in Germany during WWII. Ray graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Engineering and went on to earn the status of Professional
Engineer. He was married to Marilyn L. (Horn) for 56 years and together they had two children. Ray worked for several engineering firms during his professional career. After retiring, he enjoyed working at Indian Creek Golf Course for many years. He was a gifted athlete and superb Duplicate
Bridge player. He was also an excellent ballroom dancer and met his wife at Arthur Murray Studios where she was a teacher and he was a student. He was a lifelong hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed golfing and gardening.

Wife, Marilyn, son Robert G and his wife, Susan, of Macungie, daughter Karen K. (Popovich) and her husband, Mark, of Coto de Caza, CA, and four grandsons, John Kachelries, David Kachelries, Matthew Kachelries, and Kirk Popovich
Services:
A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held on Friday, June 10 at Noon at Bear Creek Mountain Resort, 101 Doe Mountain Lane, Macungie, PA.
