Obituary

Ralph L. Walter Ralph L. Walter, 82, of Emmaus, formerly of Allentown, died Dec. 9, 2008 in his residence. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Coplak) Walter. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in October 2008. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Ralph J. and Virginia M. (Leh) Walter. He played football for Birney Crum at Allen High School and attended St. Bonaventure University on a football scholarship. He was in business from 1950 to 1995 as an Electrical Contractor. He was a member of the Emmaus Rotary Club for 35 years and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of Zions Reformed U.C.C., Allentown where he served on consistory for 12 years. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII as a Staff Sgt. Survivors: Wife; Sons, Ralph L. Walter, Jr. of Springtown and John Walter of Emmaus; Daughters, Polly A. Ziegler of Macungie, Roxann wife of Jerry Fillman of Allentown, and Chris Ann Hamm of Breinigsville; Grandchildren, Phillip Walter, Sgt. Andrew Walter, SN Kyle Walter, Jesse Ziegler, Ryan Stayer, Heather Rigler, and Lindsay Stayer; 4 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Henry Walter and Sisters, Kathleen Schantz and Eleanor Walter. Services: Funeral Services Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing Friday, Dec. 12 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Egypt Cemetery.
