Born in Allentown, she was the daughter Pauline (Kozy) Meckes and the late Paul Meckes. Pat was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile could light up a room. She graduated from Emmaus High School in 1960, where she was Head Majorette, on Prom Court and was crowned Homecoming Queen. After graduation, she worked as a keypunch operator for PPL. She also worked for Drs. Breitberg and Wrights dental office for many years before retiring in 2000. Pat and her husband raised two daughters together. She was very devoted to her family. She was very busy running the girls to dance classes, softball games and their other activities. She was also very active in her community. She was a Girl Scout Leader, volunteer at Lehigh Valley Hospital, and a member of Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a lay assistant, usher, and nursery attendant. She was an avid bowler in leagues at both the Perkiomen Legion and the Emmaus Bowling Center. She bowled in numerous local and national tournaments. Baseball was her other love whether it was watching her grandsons games or watching her beloved Phillies. She loved to travel and shared many adventures with her husband. Her favorite experience was a seven-day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. Later in life her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons, her boys. They looked forward to swimming with her and eating her famous scrambled eggs. Each year the entire family enjoyed a week vacationing in Cape May, NJ. A special thanks for the wonderful care given to her from Emmaus Village, Arcadia Hospice, and Griswold Special Care.
