Norma Steckel, 96, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 5, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Harry Steckel with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

Born November 22, 1926, Norma was the youngest daughter of the late Henry and Carrie (Ricker) Bartholomew of Fullerton. She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, Allentown.

Norma will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susan, sons, Scott and Timothy and three grandchildren, Eric, Matthew and Paige. She was predeceased by sister Eve Renninger and brother Philip Bartholomew.

A Whitehall High School graduate, Norma obtained her teaching degree at East Stroudsburg Teachers College. She taught English and Physical Education at William Allen High School and was a reading tutor at Louis E. Dieruff High School.

Norma's passions included crossword puzzles, walks with Tasha, and win or lose, rooting for the Phillies. Most importantly, she treasured time with family. Her kindness, wit, quiet strength, and loving, generous spirit will be missed.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C. 250 Main Street Emmaus, PA 18049. Private Christian burial service will be held Thursday, October 12th in Western Salisbury Cemetery in Allentown.
