Michael F. Nishnic, 86, of Emmaus, died Sept. 11, 2011 in Mosser Nursing Home. He was the husband of Joyce E. (Stephens) Nishnic. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on February 9, 2010. Born in Vera Cruz, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Copkic) Nishnic, of Austria. He worked for Rodale Manufacturing for 25 years and later for Kraft Foods for 10 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C. and a member of the Vera Cruz Fire Company. He proudly served his country in WWII in the U.S. Army where he received a purple heart. Survivors: Wife; Son, Michael F. .Nishnic, Jr. and wife Kathy of Columbia, SC; Daughter, Lori J. wife of Bruce C. Schantz of Zionsville; Grandsons, Gregory M. Schantz and Nicholas A. Nishnic. Services: Funeral Service Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
