Michael A. Hillegass Michael (Knopf) Hillegass, 52, of Alburtis, died August 23, 2009 in his home. He was the lifetime companion of Audrey J. Derr for over 30 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Betty (Hoch) and Norman Hillegass, Sr. of Alburtis and Michael S. Knopf, Sr. of Catasauqua. Mike enjoyed most of his time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a mechanic for the former Norm's Auto Repair, Alburtis for many years. He also worked for Bally Case and Cooler and for Sears Small Engine Repair. He was a lifetime member of Nimrods Fish and Wildlife and a member of Mertztown Rod and Gun Club. He was a member of Oley Bible Chapel. Survivors: Daughters, Emily B. Knopf and Sondra M. Knopf of Topton; Grandsons, Miles A. and Maveric A. Knopf; Siblings, Robert Rabe, Norman Hillegass, Jr. Charlene (Supp) Boyer, Joseph Supp, Dale Hillegass, Gayla (Hillegass) Stucky, Donald Hillegass, and Cindy (Hillegass) Malacin. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Makenna A. Kopicz. Services: Funeral Services Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 10:30 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing Wednesday 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Thursday 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Peters Union Cemetery.
