Michael C. Hieter, 73, of Emmaus, died Nov. 25, 2022 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Francine L. (Nagy) Hieter. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Clair and Ruth (Wartman) Hieter. Mike was a 1967 graduate of Emmaus High School. He was employed for many years in the food service industry as a sales manager and helped several restaurants when in need of a chef. He also worked for family restaurant, Hieter's Restaurant as a baker. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, where he helped on the Fall Fest committee for many years and did the cooking. Mike had a love of animals which started at an early age. He was a member and past president of Emmaus Optimist Club, where he was regularly seen with his dogs at the annual Christmas tree sales, as well as their fishing contests. He was also a member of the Emmaus Knights of Columbus. Mike loved the beach, especially LBI, enjoyed fishing, was an avid Eagles fan, cheering his team to victory. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father who always enjoyed family reunions, where he would cook and entertain.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Francine; son, Brandon M. Hieter of Emmaus; daughter, Danielle M. Dieterly of Trumbauersville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri., Dec. 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church 45 S. 6 th St., Emmaus, PA 18049. Viewing Thurs., Dec. 1, 2022 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Fri. from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Interment will follow in Northwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church or Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue, in Quakertown.
