Michael R. Herring, age 63, of Macungie, passed away surrounded by his family on June 21, 2023 in Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital. Born in Sunbury, PA he was a son of Ruby (Rupp) Herring and the late Donald Herring.

He graduated from Emmaus High School in 1978 and attended Penn State. He worked as a chemical operator for Avantor for 19 years. He was a member of Solomon's U.C.C. in Macungie.

Michael was a very generous individual and loved to donate to many causes and organizations.

Michael is survived by daughter Michelle McAuley and her husband Eric; grandson, Bryce McAuley; brothers, Terry Herring and his wife Martha and Craig Herring and his wife Cindy; sister, Jennifer Herring; many nieces, nephews and cousins and former partner Deanna Martinez and step-children, Jodie Rotondo and Anthony Martinez. He was predeceased by step-daughter Celeste Martinez.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:30 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus, PA 18049. Viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his grandson Bryce McAuley at KeyBank in honor of Michael.
