Michael Angelo "Mike" Giannelli, 47, of Monterey, CA, passed away suddenly on July 12, 2023 in Monterey, CA, due to an accident/blunt force trauma. Words cannot express the profound sorrow and grief felt by family and friends at this untimely loss of Mike's genius.
Mike was born on April 30, 1976 at the US naval base in Rota, Spain to parents Scott Giannelli (deceased) and Lynda Moyer-Giannelli. Mike lived a full and adventurous life in the time he had and his personality, charm, intelligence, empathy, good looks and witty humor made him interesting and fun to be around and easy to love. Mike's passion was in the financial industry which fascinated him for over 26 years. He was professionally trained and initially employed by J.P. Morgan, in Tower 1 of the World Trade Center as a financial advisor and equities trader. He had unique insights and skills that he was always eager to share with others. Skills he also used to establish and manage the Giannelli Capital hedge fund. Mike had a love for music and was an excellent guitar player. He had deep compassion for the less fortunate and was recently working on plans for a program to help with the horrendous homeless situation in CA.
Mike was predeceased by his father Scott Giannelli who died March 16, 2002, his grandfather and role model Marvin R. Moyer and his beloved great grandparents Hilda and Leroy Miller.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Lennon of Monterey, CA, his mother Lynda L. Moyer-Giannelli and step- father Rick Scheidler of Bethlehem, PA, half-sister and brother Deanna and Antonio Giannelli, grandmothers Janet Moyer and Delores Kline, aunt and uncle Cyndi and Steve Gellis, his cousins Stevie, Jason and Amanda who he was close to and thousands of friends.
Memorial/celebration of life service will be held on Tues., Aug. 15, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Schantz Funeral Home, P.C.,250 Main St., Emmaus, PA. Visitation 1:00 to 2:30 PM in the funeral home. A link to a recording of the service will be provided on Lynda Moyer's Facebook page after the service. In lieu of flowers, please keep Mike's memory alive in your hearts… when you see someone in need – reach out to lend a helping hand. That's what Mike would do.
