Obituary

Mearl E. Mackes Mearl E. Mack Mackes, 86, of Emmaus, formerly of Allentown and Pottstown died October 25, 2007 in VNA of St. Lukes Hospice House. He was the widower of the late Lorraine R. (Wetzel) Mackes. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Henry and Lottie (Serfass) Mackes. He was a graduate of Allentown High School. He was a service manager for International Harvester, Allentown retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Union Church. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII, earning a bronze star and purple heart. He was a member of the Greenleaf Lodge F&AM, Allentown. Survivors: Daughter, Sharon D. Mackes- Fantozzi wife of George Fantozzi of Chicago, IL; Sister, Jean Shaner of Mohnton; Step Granddaughters, Kristin Kenerson and Jill Fantozzi. Services: Funeral service Monday, October 29, 2007 at 10:30 AM in Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. Friends may call Sunday 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main Street, Emmaus and 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church. Masonic Service Sunday at 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
