Mary Louise Snyder Shelhamer, 92 of Macungie died on March 14, 2022 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.  She was predeceased by her husband Carl Alvin Shelhamer. They had been married for 51 years. Born on 10/28/1929 in Allentown, she was the daughter of Elma Buchecker Snyder and Paul Samuel Snyder.  She was a graduate of Emmaus High School class of 1947 and served on the reunion committee for many years. She enjoyed her work for H and R Block for 43 years as a tax preparer and supervisor. She retired at age 85. She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church. She was a past member of the Emmaus Lioness Club and Macungie Fire Company Auxiliary.  Mary enjoyed many activities and will forever be remembered by her enjoyment of camping, cruising, traveling, bird watching, gardening, cryptoquotes, crossword puzzles, the Game Show Network, lunches with friends, love of black raspberries, driving her Mini Cooper, making cinnamon buns and Chex mix and drinking her scotch.

She is survived by her son Scott and wife Gayle of Zionsville; her daughter Jan Capehart and husband Jim of Macungie; her four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Robin and her siblings Ralston Shurtz, Franklin, Richard and Paul Snyder, Virginia Wetzel, Ada Kulp and Althea Urffer.

Funeral services will be held on Fri., March 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Lutheran Church, 3441 Devonshire Rd., Allentown, PA 18103.  Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.  Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
