Mary Anne Shafer, 86, of Easley, SC, entered eternal life Sept. 19, 2021 in Prisma Baptist Ealey Hospital.  She was the wife of the late John A. Shafer, II.  Born in Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of the late Theodore A. and Mary Ellen (Hicks) Sims.  She worked for First National Bank and later for the Clerk of Courts Office in the Lehigh County Courthouse prior to retiring.  She volunteered as a poll worker for elections and volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital and Palmetto Hospital in South Carolina.  Mary Anne was a member of St. John's U.C.C., Emmaus.  She was a member and past president of the Emmaus Woman's Club.

Mary Anne is survived by her son, John A. Shafer, III and wife Sara of Allentown; daughter, Julie Anne Godusky of Kutztown; grandchildren, Dean Warren Godusky, Darryl John Godusky, and Codie John Shafer.

Funeral services will be held on Tues., Sept. 28, 2021at 10:30 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the American Heart Association.
