Mary Jane Mahler, 97, formerly of Macungie, died April 10, 2025 at Luther Crest.  She was the wife of the late Frederick L. Mahler.  Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Ira A. and Katie M. (Stahler) Lutsey.  Mary Jane was a teacher at Shoemaker Elementary School from 1974 until retiring in 1990.  She later worked for Operation Sunshine and was a singer in the Lehigh Valley area for many years.  She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown and a 50-year member of the Emmaus Woman's Club.

Mary Jane is survived by son, Jeffrey F. Mahler; daughter, Dr. Susan Jane Mahler wife of Dr. Dennis Ruff; grandchildren, Brooke, Alex, and Jessica; great grandson, Maddox.  She was predeceased by a son, Douglas L. Mahler.

A celebration of Mary Jane's life will be held on Mon., May 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Luther Crest, 800 Hausman Rd., Allentown.  Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
