Marvin R. Moyer, 86, of Coopersburg, went to be with his Lord on March 26, 2021. He was the husband of Janet E. (Miller) Moyer. Born May 30, 1934 in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Warren D.F. and Hilda (Arnold) Moyer. Marvin was a graduate of Temple University with a bachelor's and master's degree in education. He was the former owner of Moyer's Diner in Allentown, Nutritional Director at Muhlenberg College, taught culinary and restaurant practice for 24 years at Upper Bucks Technical School, and was a professor of Culinary Arts at Johnson and Wales University, retiring in 1997. He was also the owner of Discovery Preschool in Emmaus for many years.  He was a member of the Diversified Investors Group and a former member of New Temple Lodge #720 F&AM. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from Mayor Leann Gilbert for Outstanding Performance in Education.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janet; daughters, Lynda L. Moyer of Bethlehem and Cynthia wife of Stephen Gellis of Macungie; sister, Anna Mae Fear of Youngstown, OH; grandchildren, Michael A. Giannelli, Stephen Gellis, II, Jason Gellis, and Amanda Gellis; great grandchildren, Bella, Aubrey, Mason, and Holden. He was predeceased by brother, Warren, Albert, and Harvey Moyer and sister, Josephine "Dolly" McElroy.

A memorial service will be held on Thurs., April 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home.
