Marvin R. Gehman Marvin R. Gehman, 80, of Macungie, died January 20, 2008 in his residence. He was the husband of the Mary Ellen (Taylor) Gehman and the late Rachel (Miller) Gehman. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in August 20007. Born in Macungie, he was the son of the late Martin L. and Ester A. (Hill) Gehman. He was a truck driver for East Penn Foundry and Tyler Pipe for 35 years, retiring in 1990. He achieved 2 million miles of safe driving, driving Mack trucks. He earned 32 safe driver awards from the PA Motor Trucker Association. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a volunteer and served 10 years with the Macungie Ambulance Corps, served as assistant fire chief for 22 years with the Macungie Fire Company, was a charter member of the Macungie VFW Post 9264, was a charter member of the Lehigh Hunting Camp, where he served as the cook, and was a member of the Macungie and Alburtis Rod and Gun Clubs. Survivors: Wife; Stepsons, Garry A. Gearheart and wife Barbara of Northampton and W. Mason Gearheart and wife Dawn of New Tripoli; Grandchildren, Justin and Kiera. He was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Buchin. Services: Funeral Services Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Solomons Union Cemetery, Macungie.
