Obituary

Marshall E. Rau, 70, formerly of Emmaus, died August 23, 2015 in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice. He was the husband of Judith A. (Seibert) Rau. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Marshall L. and Virginia G. (George) Rau. Marshall worked for Mack Trucks as a production technician for 30 years, retiring in 1998. After retirement, he operated Rau's Maintenance and was the equipment manager and assistant baseball coach for Muhlenberg College. He was an active member of Emmaus Moravian Church, serving on the Sacristan Corp, Board of Trustees, and sexton of Emmaus Moravian Cemetery. He coached baseball for Fire Co. #2 for 30 years, was on the board of directors for EYA, was a member and past trustee of Fire Company #2, and was a fireman for 20 years for the Emmaus Fire Department. He honorably served his country in the Navy during Vietnam. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Judy; Sons, Douglas S. Rau and wife Donna of Emmaus and Steven D. Rau and wife Amy of Breinigsville; Brother, Robert D. Rau and wife Kathy of Emmaus; Grandchildren, Nolan, Laura, Taylor, and Hayden. He was predeceased by a son, David C. Rau, a daughter, Jennifer Rau, and a brother, Richard Rau. Services: Memorial Services Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 4:00 PM in Emmaus Moravian Church, Main St. and Keystone Ave., Emmaus. Visitation 3:00 to 4:00 PM in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
