Obituary

Mark H. Hopkins, born on December 6, 1952, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at the age of 73, with his partner in life by his side.

Mark was caring, kind, and compassionate. A true “jack of all trades,” he never hesitated to lend a helping hand, or share his knowledge with those in need. He was a skilled contractor, and a very creative and artistic craftsman, who was much admired for his woodworking talents. His carpentry expertise allowed him to turn salvaged furniture into works of art, and with a generous heart, he loved to make homemade gifts for family and friends.

As an outdoorsman, Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, and everything about nature. He had a fondness for animals, kept the magic of Halloween alive for children for many years, and especially had a passion for all things western. He could often be found in his workshop (the garage), or outside tending to his peach tree, always happy to share its harvest with the neighbors.

Mark is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted significant other of 34 years, Barbara Stocklin, and his extended family: stepdaughter, Barbara Chadwick, and her husband John; grandson, Johnny Chadwick, and his wife Kelly; granddaughter, Madi Acuna, and her husband Roger, and two great-granddaughters, Elsie and Margo Acuna. He is also survived by his brother, Nathan Hopkins, and his wife Carla; his nephews Nathan and Cory Hopkins; along with a close circle of friends and neighbors. Mark was predeceased by his mother, Janet Robbins, and his father Harry Hopkins.

A celebration of life gathering will be held in his honor in the near future. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
