Dr. Margaret S. Geosits of Emmaus passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, on April 10, 2024. Born March 9, 1939 in Northampton, she was a passionate educator for 40 years, serving as an administrator and principal in the East Penn School District for the majority of her career. "Marge" as her friends and family knew her best, was a proud Rotarian, becoming the Emmaus Club's first female member in 1990. She lived the organization's motto of "Service Above Self" by volunteering in the community and helping those in need.

Marge graduated magna cum laude from the first co-ed class of Muhlenberg College in 1961. She went on to attain a master's degree in speech and theatre arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 1963, and a doctorate in educational administration from Lehigh University in 1978.

A life-long Yankees fan, Marge enjoyed going to games in the Bronx and, as her health waned, on TV. She traveled extensively and loved visiting her "framily" in Canada.

She is survived by her daughter Stephanie J. Geosits, of Toronto, Canada, and granddog Belle; sister Marcella Sos (friend Michelle Ochs); sister-in-law Sandra (Anthony) Sos; nieces Angie (Jim) Fogle, Amy Sos, Tammy (Alex) Bentz, and Rosemarie (Jim) Shelanick; nephew William Sos, Jr.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as her caregiver Louella Kovacs.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, John F. Geosits, Jr.; her parents Anna (Graberitz) and Emil F. Sos, Sr.; brothers Emil F. Sos, Jr., Anthony J. Sos, and William J. Sos.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus, PA 18049. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Emmaus.
