Obituary

Madge Wierman died peacefully on September 22, while holding hands with her husband Sam, the love of her life for 75 years. Born in Hanover, PA, on August 30, 1925, she was the daughter of Walter and Mary Genevieve (Weaver) McKinney. She and Sam celebrated their 70 th wedding anniversary last November. They were devoted parents to their seven children: Stephanie wife of Dr. George Anderson, Susan wife of Philip Siebert, Sam Wierman, Marybeth wife of Michael Beck, Lisa (deceased) wife of Jeff re y Markle, Timothy husband of Jennifer Pancoast Wierman and Amy Wierman. Granna was a devoted grandmother to Abel and Jonathan Anderson, Emily Noel, Stephanie Stephenson, Kathryn Canton, Lauren Palladino, Samuel, Danielle, Allison, Jack, Nick, and Luke Wierman, Michael, Kristen and Timothy Beck, Melissa Markle, Greta Smith, and Hannah Ulecka. As well as 11 great grandchildren, Stephanie, Sophia, Leif, Luke, Caliana and Carter Anderson, Chase, Logan and Wyatt Noel, Emma Smith, Norah Ulecka, and Charlotte Canton. She loved the children and was always ready to babysit and entertain them.  She has a brother William McKinney married to Clara, nieces, Loretta, Sharon and Joan; nephews Michael and Gregory (deceased); a sister Lydia married to Robert Zimmerman, nieces Christi, Barbara, nephews Robert, Daniel, Andrew and Michael, a brother John and a sister-in-law Brenda wife of Paul Smith.

Madge and Sam lived in Reading, Pennsylvania for 12 years where they made many life-long friends. In 1960, they moved to Emmaus where they raised their children. Later they had vacation homes in Stone Harbor, Cape May Courthouse, New Jersey, and Sanibel, Florida. Madge loved to entertain her friends and family and was a wonderful gourmet cook. She was an artist specializing in collage. Prior to her marriage she was an executive assistant at the York Company. After raising her children, she worked for the Emmaus Free Press in Advertising Sales.

Madge lived a life of deep faith in God and shared his love with family, friends and strangers through acts of kindness. Madge was active in the Cursillo Movement and Marriage Encounter. She was a member of St. Thomas More, Allentown, and St. Isabel's in Sanibel where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the women's guild. She was also a volunteer at the Sanibel Historic Museum.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at 12:30 PM in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexor Ave., Allentown, PA 18103. Visitation 11:00 to 12:30 PM in the church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Thomas More Church.
