Obituary

M. Minerva Fries, 100, of Emmaus, died Dec. 28, 2018 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Joseph Schwartz and Alfred Fries. Born in Upper Milford Twp., she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Minnie (Nuss) Wagner. Minerva worked at the Emmaus Pajama Factory and as an assembler for Allen Organ Company for 20 years, retiring in 1984. She was the oldest member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, and a member of the Emmaus Historical Society and life member of Citizens Fire Co. #2.


Minerva is survived by her Son, Ronald G. Schwartz and wife Ruth of Emmaus; Grandchildren, Bonnie wife of Michael Woltman and Randy Schwartz and wife Kristine; Great Grandchildren, Victoria and Matthew. She was predeceased by 1 brother and 7 sisters.


A funeral service will be held on Wed., Jan. 2, 2019 at 10:30 AM in Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Rd. Allentown, PA 18103. Viewing 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
