Obituary

Louetta Frankett Cressman, 81, of Allentown, passed away on Tues., Aug. 5, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born Feb. 13, 1944 in Allentown, and was the daughter of the late John and Louetta (Franket) deJong.  She was the beloved wife of Mervin D. Cressman, to whom she was married for 62 years on July 13th.  Lou was a graduate of Southern Lehigh High School, where she enjoyed being a cheerleader.  Upon graduation, she began her career at Bell Telephone.  From there she went on to become a telephone operator at St. Luke's Hospital, where she worked for 35 years until her retirement.  Lou found great joy in supporting her children and grandchildren in school and extracurricular activities.  She absolutely loved reading and was hardly ever seen without a book in her hand.  She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and playing solitaire.  Two of her favorite activities were mowing the lawn and doing the dishes and she did both until the month before her passing.  She was an active member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Allentown, where she was baptized, confirmed, and later married, and had her daughters baptized as well.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Merv; daughters, Petrina Campagna and husband Paul, and Leah Ringholm.  She was devoted Nana to her grandchildren, Rachel Campagna wife of Samuel Fairbanks, Emily Ringholm, Lindsey Campagna, and Olivia Ringholm.  She is survived by two of her seven sisters, Constance Grof and Joann Werkheiser.  She was predeceased by her sisters, Jeanne Reiss, Nancy deJong, Patricia Neubauer, Marie Bolcar, and Sara Dunlap.
