LaVerne G. Hersh LaVerne G. Hersh, 85, of Emmaus, died Nov. 14, 2011 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice. Born in Lower Macungie Twp., he was the son of the late Wilson J. and Kathryn (Krauss) Hersh. He was a maintenance mechanic for Air Products for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Emmaus Lodge #792, member of the Lehigh Consistory, and member of the Rajah Shriners. He honorably served his country as an armed guard in the Navy during WWII, serving in the South Pacific Theater. He was a Past Commander and Quartermaster of VFW Post 7088. Survivors: No Immediate.
