Larry G. Haberstumpf, 76, of Bath passed away October 20, 2016 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. Born and raised in Emmaus, he was the son of the late George H. and Kathleen A. (Merkel) Haberstumpf. He grew up working for the family business Chestnut Street Market in Emmaus. He was an Emmaus High School class of 1959 graduate, playing football and baseball during his time there. After graduation he went on to work for what was then known as Western Electric where he enjoyed a lengthy and rewarding career, retiring from what had become Agere Systems after 42 years. He was a former member of the Emmaus Lions Club, Mercantile Club of Emmaus, Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corp and the Emmaus Moravian Bugle Quartet.
He will be dearly missed by his children Christine A. Boty of Emmaus, Dean L. Haberstumpf of Greentown and Eric Haberstumpf and wife Laura of Bethlehem. He also leaves behind his sister, Beverly J. wife of Owen Mangold of Emmaus and brother, Ronald S. Haberstumpf and wife LouAnn of Bethlehem. Watching his grandchildren in their growth and accomplishments gave him such joy. Alexander Boty; Jacob Haberstumpf; Dean, Jr, Deanna, Madison, and Jacqueline Haberstumpf will miss their proud grandfather.
Services: Funeral Service Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
